Resumen:
Con cada nueva ola de innovación tecnológica, la sociedad necesita decidir si se integran esos avances en los entornos de aprendizaje y, en ese caso, necesita determinar cómo hacerlo. Así ocurrió con las computadoras personales, luego con Internet y ahora con las tecnologías de inteligencia artificial (IA) generativa. Cada novedad tecnológica se puede integrar de formas diversas a la manera en que se enseña y se aprende y las decisiones que se tomen para llevar a cabo esta integración son de una importancia vital, ya que cada una implica consecuencias y resultados diversos.
¿Cómo se deberían tomar estas decisiones? Primero, es necesario establecer el tipo de aprendizaje y de educación que queremos para la niñez, las escuelas y la sociedad. Luego, hay que diseñar nuevas tecnologías y aplicaciones que se alineen con los valores y las perspectivas de esa educación.
¿Cuáles son las implicancias para la integración de las nuevas tecnologías de IA generativa, como el ChatGPT, en los entornos de aprendizaje?

Abstract:
As each new wave of technology ripples through society, we need to decide if and how to integrate the technology into our learning environments. That was true with personal computers, then with the internet, and now with generative AI technologies. For each new technology, there are many different ways that we can integrate the technology into how we teach and learn. These choices are critically important: different choices can have very different outcomes and implications.
How should we make these choices? I think we need to decide what type of learning and education we want for our children, our schools, and our society—and then design new technologies and applications that align with our educational values and visions.
What does that mean for the integration of new generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT into our learning environments?
